COUNTRYLINK PENSIONER BOOKING FEE ABOLISHED

The NSW Government has announced the abolition of the pensioner booking fee on Countrylink services from 1st July 2009.

NSW/ACT pensioners are entitled to up to four free trips a year, and on CountryLink they will be able to use these entitlements in economy class without incurring the booking fee.

The new Government funding arrangements for Seniors Card holders allows Great Southern Rail to extend the concession savings for Seniors to as much as 25% off the standard adult everyday fare on bookings made from 25 May 2009 in both Gold Service and Red Service.

This new concession arrangement with Great Southern Rail requires Seniors Card holders to register to obtain a unique Great Southern Rail Seniors Concession Travel Card.
