Having Your Kayak and Eating Well Too
Cabbage Tree Creek runs through the Royal National Park at Bundeena and
on Tuesday, 28 October ten lucky Seniors went down to the sea in kayaks
and had a wonderful time. Thanks to the generosity of Seniors Card and
the organiser, Serah Chubukoff, we'd won a day trip through our net contact
- pays to consult the net regularly. Marnie and Bruce Sigal of Bundeena
Sea Kayaks provided the craft and Bruce gave information on the beautiful,
wild park area we paddled through with instructive encouragement to beginner
paddlers.
From his kayak hatch Bruce produced the makings for a welcome morning
break. As the yummy mufffins provided by Marnie disappeared we watched
the intrepid Tony and Richard of our group paddle back upstream against
the rapid water under a low bridge. They made it! Clapping and cheers!
By lunchtime anyone would have thought we'd all known one another for
years, so we went up to the RSL overlooking the water for lunch. (Poor
souls - but someone had to do it.) Though the day had dawned wet and grey
there was sunshine by mid-morning. The wind kept low so it turned out
to be a perfect day for kayaking. Thanks Seniors Card people.
