Save 9 to 12% off the RRP with Senior Shopper
14 June 2005
NSW Seniors Card members can now reap even more savings by taking advantage of the new, extended range of products offered by Senior Shopper, a free shopping service that takes all the hard work out of negotiating the best price for a variety of goods and services. Senior Shopper is an initiative of Australian Discount Shopping Services.
To showcase the extended range of products, which now includes whitegoods, electrical products, cameras, motor vehicles, furniture, carpets, tyres, and car batteries, Senior Shopper has recently launched a new website www.seniorshopper.com.au. The website is easy to use, and offers Seniors Card members up-to-date information and current specials.
To use Senior Shopper, NSW Seniors Card members simply need to provide the make, model and price of the product/service required to a Senior Shopper consultant by phoning 1300 366 265. The Senior Shopper consultant will then contact various retail outlets to find the lowest price available, and provide the member with an obligation free quotation, usually within 24 hours.
NSW Seniors Card Manager, Ian Henderson said, “Senior Shopper has saved Seniors Card members thousands of dollars since the service was introduced.
“Now with an extended range of products on offer, and the launch of the Senior Shopper website, members can save even more as a result of using this free service.”
The NSW Government introduced the Seniors Card scheme to encourage older people to enjoy an active and healthy retirement. It is a free discount card providing members with access to business discounts and NSW Government concessions. A complete list of the thousands of discounts available to NSW Seniors Card members can be found on the Discounts page.

Background on NSW Seniors Card
The Seniors Card scheme is free to join. It is not assets-tested and does not require seniors to disclose their income. To qualify, seniors must be a NSW permanent resident, aged 60 or over and work no more than 20 hours a week in paid employment.
Seniors Card currently has 890,000 members and thousands of business partners who offer discounts to members. Business owners interested in reaching the 890,000 NSW Seniors Card members are encouraged to become Business Partners. There is no cost involved – contact NSW Seniors Card for details.
The scheme is administered and funded by the NSW Department of Ageing, Disability and Home Care. All other Australian states and territory governments operate Seniors Card programs that are similar to the NSW program. Applicants need to be 60 years and over in all the programs but benefits and eligibility criteria differ.
