A NSW Parliamentary Inquiry into Elder Abuse in NSW began on 1 September 2015. The inquiry is examining the extent and types of abuse experienced by older people in NSW, as well as approaches for preventing and responding to abuse. Public hearings began in November 2015 and will continue in February and March 2016. The inquiry is expected to deliver its report and recommendations in mid-2016 and more information is available on the Legislative Council website.
