What is a NSW Seniors Card?
A Seniors Card is a discount and concessions card which provides NSW Seniors
Card members with access to a range of discounts on products and services and valuable concessions
on NSW and interstate public transport.
You are eligible for a NSW Seniors Card if you:
- are 60 years of age or over;
- are a permanent resident of NSW; and
- work no more than 20 PAID hours per week.
How do I become a NSW Seniors Card member?
A Seniors Card Application Form must be completed when applying for a Seniors Card, Applicants must meet all three eligibility criteria before applying.

2. Take your form and current identification documents to a registered NSW Justice of the Peace (JP) to witness your statutory declaration and verify your identity, age, Australian residency and your NSW address.
Proof of identity and age (take one of the following)
o NSW Driver’s Licence
o NSW Photo Card
o NSW Birth Card
o Passport
Proof of Australian residency (take one of the following)
o Australian or New Zealand Birth Certificate
o Australian or New Zealand Passport
o Australian or New Zealand Citizenship Certificate
o Permanent Resident Visa in foreign passport
Proof of NSW address (take one of the following)
o NSW Driver’s Licence
o NSW Photo Card
o Recent bank statement with current residential address
o Recent utility account with current residential address

How long does it take to receive my Seniors Card?
Once you have submitted your application form, after it has been witnessed by a NSW Justice of the Peace to verify that you meet membership criteria, please allow 21 days for delivery (from receipt of your application).
Can I apply before I turn 60?
No. You must be 60 years or over.
What is defined as a permanent resident of NSW?
Australian citizens and residents with a permanent visa who are living in NSW on a permanent basis. Temporary visa holders are ineligible.
Where can I find a Justice of the Peace (JP) to witness my form?
JPs are located at councils, libraries, MP offices, police stations and government offices. You can also search for a JP at www.lawlink.nsw.gov.au.
Can I use my New South Wales Government Seniors
Card Interstate?
Yes, NSW Seniors Card holders are entitled to purchase public transport concession fares in other states and territories, click here for more information. Many businesses provide
discounts to interstate cardholders on request.
What happens if I change my name?
All changes of name must be supported by documentation, either
marriage certificate, driver's licence or divorce decree. Simply
send these to us with your old card and we can update those changes

Who can become a Seniors Card Partner?
Any business or service with a good reputation and with an Australian
Business Number (ABN) can become a Seniors Card Business Partner.
Franchise outlets must be registered under your
Head Office so please contact your Head Office Marketing Manager
if you wish to register to become a Business Partner.
To ensure that the high standards and integrity
of the Seniors Card Partnership are maintained, Seniors Card generally
requires a minimum or value added offer of 5%.
