Dickens Down Under - World Premiere - win tickets
... a new musical from the co-author of 'SHOUT!' and 'Dusty'.
Dickens Down Under looks at nineteenth century Australia through the eyes of two of Charles Dickens' sons who came to live in the land their novelist father relegated a number of his characters to.
Set in the Dubbo School of Arts, Dickens Down Under comprises scenes from Dickens, each topped by an appropriate Victorian musical gem - historical bush tucker meets literary plum pudding and musical pavlova.
Directed by Roger Gimblett (By Jeeves and Hamlet) Dickens Down Under stars baritone Christopher Hamilton as Alfred Dickens, tenor Peter John Layton as his brother Edward, and soprano/pianist Maria Okunev as Edward's wife, Constance.
Where: Genesian Theatre, 420 Kent St Sydney.
Tickets: $25. Seniors' Concession $20.
